The Palace of Justice (the formal reception rooms of the Ministry of Justice) by Oscar Niemeyer (who else) has a superbly muscular yet elegant concrete shell with cascades of water. Most of Niemeyer’s palace designs in Brasilia have the same basic concept of a pillared concrete shell around a glass and steel block. It keeps the building’s temperature very well regulated and moderates the intense sunlight.
