I’m currently working on a really exciting project with Stephen Thomas, who is an AI / Analytics expert in the Smith School of Business at Queen’s, and my MA student, David Eliot on a project examining Google’s move away from a ‘collect it all’ attitude to personal data for marketing, towards a more AI-driven approach. That’s funded by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
My last big project was called, Smarter Cities? Big Data, Ubiquitous Surveillance and Urban Management, or Ubicity for short, and it was funded by the Canada Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) under their Digital Economy theme.
I have several really exciting proposals in the works right now, but I’m not going to talk about them for the usual reasons of refereeing etc.
