Not the gorilla, which decorates the front of this strip club, but the camera to the right, which is part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police system of 50 cameras in Kabukicho, with almost complete coverage. It seems to be used increasingly in immigration control, but one has the feeling that this whole effort has a lot to do with ‘making Kabukicho safe for development’…
